Digital verification in the age of noise

As part of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh’s 23rd Foundation Day celebrations, I facilitated a specialised workshop on digital verification for the Department of Media Studies and Journalism. The university marked this milestone through a vibrant exchange of knowledge, culture, and ideas. My session focused on equipping students with practical, rigorous tools to interrogate digital evidence—ensuring that the next generation of media professionals can reliably separate signal from noise.

Four layers of the same lie

At the Bangladesh Fact-Checking Conference (September 2026), I moderated a session where four fact-checkers each presented a case — state-linked influence ops, a fabricated screenshot that triggered real violence, vaccine misinformation during a live outbreak, and an open market selling people's own ID data for the price of a lunch. My job was to draw out not the debunk but the mechanism: how each lie travelled, and why it mattered. Together the four cases mapped one information ecosystem, seen from four floors of the same building.

Social Media Algorithm Literacy

An interactive workshop designed to cultivate digital 'Tiktikis'. The session demystifies how social media rankings mediate our reality, walking participants through three core steps: building awareness of algorithmic filtering, understanding the underlying signals and goals, and reclaiming agency by interrogating and resetting those systems.

Verification training, from evidence to method

During my tenure as Director at ForensIQ through October 2026, after serving as Head of Digital Investigations from May 2025, I trained journalism students and practitioners in OSINT, source tracing, visual verification, and misinformation analysis — building habits of evidence in a media culture that increasingly runs on speed.

Cure with Facts

In March and April 2025, I ran a month-long misinformation resilience campaign that culminated in a workshop session on platform misinformation and source verification for undergraduate students. The intervention was designed to help participants recognise how false or misleading content circulates online, and how stronger verification habits can make them more resilient readers and sharers.

A small cohort for better learning systems

A 10-student online workshop on attention, memory, recovery, scheduling, and study architecture. The point was simple: make learning less mystical and more designed.

Media literacy panel discussion

I spoke on algorithmic media literacy in the age of algorithms alongside Nusrat Tabassum and journalist Nazifa Raidah, placing my work between rigorous journalism, civic education, and the public defence of evidence.

Centre for Language Studies · ULAB · May 2025–May 2026

Instructor, Academic English

Across three semesters, I taught Academic English to six sections at ULAB’s Centre for Language Studies. The role is an instructor role, not a faculty appointment, but the work is the same in spirit: building structure, rhetorical clarity, and the long, patient correction of fossilized errors.

English Olympiad · 27 Jan 2023

Language work beyond the classroom

Over the years, from campus ambassador to national olympiad adjudicator and Medal for Excellence recipient, I helped inspire and facilitate hundreds of students through language learning, public speaking, and competitive English practice.

Projects

public experiments

Some projects I do out of passion, curiosity, and a wish to contribute where it matters. They do not always come directly from study or work, but they keep me alive to both.
